halon's Essays on Go, Team Internet!
My first embedded video. Let's hope this works.
Taken verbatim from a text I have to read:
"Key C2 structures are the AAOG, AAOE's, LFSP, BOG, POG, AACG, TALCE, etc. Each UAA must have an AAOE. For example, the AAOG and CE AAOE will be in the CE UAA. The LCE AAOE and LFSP HQ will be in the LCE UAA."
I want to shoot myself.
The most poorly assembled shower controls ever.
So it's been a long day at work. I decide I'm going to take a shower before heading out to dinner. I examine the controls of my shower in my hotel room and determined that since the teardrop shaped handle is pointed down, towards an etched "off," that by extrapolation, the "C" meant cold, and the "H" meant hot. I turned the faucet on full blast 'hot' so that I can speed up the warming process.
Five minutes later, it's still running cold. On a whim, I turn the faucet down slowly, and sure enough, it turns off. I then start turning to the other side, and water hot enough to flash fry lobsters erupts from the shower head. Fortunately, being a cautious soul, I was nowhere near it.
The next few minutes had me figuring out that I could either vary the amount of hot water coming out, or the amount of cold water coming out, but not both at the same time - so I had the option of a very brisk splash or cooking my internal organs. I did what any rational human being would do in a situation like this.
I put on more deodorant and left the damn thing alone.
Question, o interweb sages: I'm looking for a car commercial.
It's a commercial where this guy is in a bar meeting his friends, and he sees this waifish woman across the way. Then he leaves, drives around a bit in his car, and then hits a concert, where he sees the same woman.
I can't remember what car it's for, so I'm having trouble finding it on the internet - I'm looking for the music from that ad.
Any thoughts?
On temporary hiatus
Can't surf from work anymore. Limited internet. "Death is but a door, time is but a window. I'll be back." - Vigo the CarpathianDay 8 of the 12 Day Work Week
I like being in the Navy Reserves. Really, I do. It does wear on me somewhat when I've got drill, however, as it means a 12 day work week (as the title of this post suggests). Due to a strange aligning of the stars, moons, and other heavenly bodies, I had to do two Physical Fitness Tests back to back. Even more strangely, I performed much better on the second one.
I'm now ready to pass out at my desk.
Of course, that might also be the self induced food coma I put myself in after a Chow Mein Lunch Combo...
I want to gouge my eyes out.
The family I stay with rents movies every week. Usually new releases. Last night they rented "In the Name of the King." I rolled my eyes inwardly, since martial arts+medieval settings don't really work for me. I kept quiet, though, since they picked it out and I wasn't going to ruin their fun. Then the production company "Boll KG" displays on the screen, and an abject feeling of terror and revulsion prompts me to check the DVD box - yep, directed by none other than Uwe Boll.
I made it through about an hour of the movie and hated every minute of it. Despite finding Leelee Sobieski attractive, there were no redeeming qualities to this movie at all. You'd think that with that many big name stars in it, at least one of them might have said "Y'know, this movie is gonna suck."
